CURUBANDA LODGE

An oasis between two volcanoes!
Curubanda Lodge is a small mountain lodge located between Rincón de la Vieja and Cacao volcanoes. Curubanda is situated on a cattle farm, where the owners combine cattle farming and agriculture with tourism and the protection of primary and secondary forest. Curubanda Lodge is located in a pristine area that offers authentic scenes of rural life and nature, where you can observe in their own habitat a great variety of birds, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, and armadillos, among others. On one of the hikes, you will also enjoy the incredible views of the Gulf of Papagayo, Lake Nicaragua, Rincon de la Vieja and Cacao volcanoes. You will be amazed when you get the chance to admire both the Atlantic and the Pacific coasts. Due to its comfortable climate you will be able to get the most out of your stay, allowing you to bring home beautiful memories of this small paradise.

Curubanda-Rincón de la Vieja Escape & Hot springs
With transportation from San José (Public bus San José - Liberia, Private Transportation from Liberia to Curubanda, public bus Curubanda to Liberia)
Day 1: Take the public bus from San José to Liberia. In Liberia a Curubanda driver will be waiting for you to take you to the Rural Inn (driving distance: 40 minutes.) Check in at Curubanda Lodge. Walk through the gardens and trails of the private reserve. Dinner and overnight stay at Curubanda Lodge.
Day 2: After breakfast, horse riding to Volcán Rincon de la Vieja National Park, unique and off the beaten path. Lunch. Return to the lodge. Visit to hot springs and natural pools. Dinner and Overnight stay at Curubanda Rural Inn.
Day 3: Learn abour milking a cow. Breakfast. 8:00 am Catch the public bus to Liberia. From Liberia you can continue to your next destination.

Cacao Volcano Hike (3D/2N)
Day 1: Check in at Curubanda Lodge. Walk with Spanish speaking local guide through the gardens and trails of the private reserve. Dinner and overnight stay at Curubanda Lodge.
Day 2: After breakfast, take a guided hike to Volcán Cacao, unique and off the beaten path. Enjoy the natural waterfall and pools. Lunch. Visit to hot springs and natural pools (transfer on your own). Dinner and overnight stay at Curubanda Lodge.
Day 3: Learn about milking a cow. Breakfast.
