Yorkín is a small town located in the Talamanca-Bribri indigenous territory, accesible by dug-out canoe through the spectacular Yorkin River. This is one of the best places in Costa Rica to interact with indigenous people, to visit waterfalls and organic plantations, and to explore the tropical rainforest and rivers. You will learn about the Bribri culture while experiencing a natural paradise. The waterfalls and the chance to swim at Yorkín River make this a relaxing adventure. The talks about the Bribri culture are very inspiring!

One day Tour: Mishka Yorkín! (Let’s go to Yorkín in Bribri)
With Transport: Departure time from Cahuita: 7:30 a.m. Depature from Puerto Viejo: 8:00 am
After a 45 minutes drive to Bambú, your Bribri local guide will await you to take you along Yorkin River which is the natural border between Costa Rica and Panama while observing the impressive vegetation of this territory. Enjoy a deep plunge in the river! We will then arrive at Yorkín, where we will make a small town tour and walk along organic cocoa and banana plantations, while the local guide introduces you to the way of living at Yorkín community, until reaching Casa de las Mujeres Lodge.
Enjoy a delicious snack and chat on the Indigenous association. Join a guided tour along an interpreted trail where visitors will learn about medicinal plants and crops that are of great important for the community! Then, enjoy a bribri style lunch. For dessert, we will learn and participate in making chocolate and will also learn how the bribri people woove the roofs of their houses. After this unique experience, we will be ready to take the canoe back to Bambú.

Without transportation from Cahuita or Puerto Viejo, you arrive to Bambú
The tour starts in Bambú, where our local guide will await you to take you along Yorkin River which is the natural border between Costa Rica and Panama while observing the impressive vegetation of this territory. Ride along Yorkín River on a dug-out canoe.

Day 2: Breakfast. Hike to Panama Waterfall. with a Bribri local guide. Lunch and head to your next destination.
Local guides in Yorkín speak only spanish. If you need a bilingual guide add $65.00 / per day / per group.
