Monte Alto is in a prime location, neighboring Samara beach, Barra Honda and the Island of Chira. Path winds through primary and secondary forest, with some of Costa Rica’s most diverse flora and fauna. Monte Alto also boasts beautiful waterfalls and stunning views of the Gulf of Nicoya, the coasts of Guanacaste and the South Pacific. Monte Alto offers a 5 Km. long trail network, walks in the orquids wildgarden, with 50 different orchid species. It also offers trips to XIX century agricultural setlements, plantations, coffee, vegetables and “tapa de dulce” processing sites, and visits to a sugarcane mill and a local history museum.
