Homestay at the Ecofinca!
Day 1: Arrive at Ecofinca around noon and be welcomed by your family. Enjoy a traditional and healthy lunch with products from the farm. After a short rest, you can choose one of the following tours: Bike tour, presentation about organic products/medical plants, or learn how to make organic fertilizer, or go on a night tour through the forest. Enjoy a delicious dinner with your family.
Day 2: After breakfast, we will take a tour at the Ecofinca through the local plantations,harvesting and collection of food to prepare lunch. We will enjoy a healthy lunch and then finish our guided tour in the forest trails.

Day 1: Arrive at Saltire around noon and be welcomed by the lovely community of Bribripa Kaneblö. Enjoy a traditional lunch in the Bribri-style restaurant. After a short
rest, go on a walking tour “Bribripa u Pakö” with the Bribris! Learn about medical plants, experience a presentation of grinding corn and rice peeling, get to know the ritual of affliction, visit a Ú Sule, visit the crafts shop and enjoy Bribri dance and music. Rural Escape with the Térraba Culture
Without transportation
Day 1:
11:30 p.m.: Arrive at the community center to learn a bit about the history and current reality of the Térraba people. Continue on to the lodge.
1:00 p.m: Get settled in your cabins and enjoy a native lunch. Then visit the local creek to take a dip in the natural Jacuzzi and return to the lodge to relax.
6:00 p.m: Learn more about Térraba culture and about their indigenous rights organization, ASODINT. Stay overnight at their cabins.

Exploring Tortuguero Canals 3D/2N

Day 1: Arrive at La Pavona at 1:00 p.m. take the public barge to Tortuguero towards to La Casona. Public boat transportation is included. Arrive at Tortuguero community. Your local guide will await you to take you to La Casona where you will be served a delicious local lunch. Free time. Optional: visit the Caribbean Conservation Corporation and the Town’s Museum (the entrante fee is voluntary – it is a contribution to the marine turtle conservation). Dinner at La Casona. At 8:00 p.m. Marine Turtle Observation Tour: night guided tour along the beach to observe the nesting of the Green Turtle (July-October) and the Leatherback Turtle(March-June).
Day 2: From 6 to 9:00 a.m. Barge Tour along Tortuguero Canals: admire the magestic cannal while your guide will show you the biodiversity and natural richness of this impressive mangrove forest. Soon you will be at the primary forest, observing many native trees, After this beautiful forest hike, you'll arrive al Pancho's Organix BioArchitechture Project, filled with the fruits of his unlimited imagination. You will get to be creative too, designing neckleces, bracelets or other crafts from forest seeds. Gandoca Rural Escape 2D/1N (March to July)

Day 1: Leave early, passing local banana plantations and campesino farms. In Gandoca, a local guide will greet you with traditional refreshments and introduce you to your host families. Lunch. In the afternoon there will be free time to enjoy the beach and visit the hatchery where the turtle eggs are protected. Dinner. After dinner, gather around your local guide, who will tell you about the sea turtles that nest on the Caribbean Coast, then go for a walk to watch for leatherbacks (baulas), the biggest sea turtles in the world. We will observe the nesting process and learn about ANAI’s research on leatherback turtle protection. Return to your host family’s home.
Day 2 Breakfast Around 8:00 a.m. As an optional activity not included in the itinerary, leave for Gandoca Lagoon, and learn about its natural history. Delicious lunch and departure.

Keköldi Bribri-Cabecar Escape (2D/1N)
With transportation from San José (public bus)
Day 1:Take the 6:00am public bus from San José to Puerto Viejo and ask the driver to be let off at Hone Creek(in Palí Supermarket). A local guide will be waiting for you to take you to Keköldi Indigenous Reserve. Start the adventure at the beginning of the trail, where your Bribri-cabecar guide will tell you about the Bribri-Cabecar Indigenous Territory and about the research project for the reproduction of the iguana verde (Iguana Iguana). Later, he will take you through secondary tropical forest, where you will observe palm trees, cocoa and fast growing trees such as the Javillo and Jobo. Slowly climb into the mountains while observing trees of great size and precious wood. You may also see howler and white faced monkeys, iguanas, leaf-cutter ants and spiders. After an hour hike, arrive to Centro Científico Keköldi, your Bribri-Cabecar style lodge, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, hike 10 minutes to the highest point, where a tower was built particularly for observing the raptor migration. (October to November and February to March). In one day, it is possible to count over 60,000 birds. From this observation point you will see the breathtaking scenery of the Talamanca mountains. Dinner. Overnight at Centro Científico Keköldi.

Los Campesinos Rural Escape 2D/1N

Day 1 Arrival at the Los Campesinos Reserve. Chat on Campesinos conservation efforts. Typical lunch prepared in wood heated stove. Walk on the Poza de Olivo Pathway (1 hour), crossing a suspended bridge over the Los Chorros Waterfalls and the forest’s highest point. Swim in the Olivo natural pools. Typical Dinner. Lodging at Los Campesinos Rural Inn.
Day 2 Typical breakfast. Trekking on the Mirador El Pacifico Pathway (2 1/2 hours). Your local guide will show you the forest from the country side point of view. We will go to the Mirador El Pacífico by the andarivel, a rustic aerial tram. Return to the Lodge. Free Time. Departure to next destination.
Note: Four-wheel drive is essential to get to Los Campesinos Reserve. If you don’t have a four-wheel drive, you can leave your vehicle in Londres (at Brisas del Nara Restaurant) and take a previously arranged rural vehicle to Los Campesinos Reserve.

The reserve is also home to howler monkeys, Paca, Agouti, and the Crested Guan, among others. Take a dip in the waterfall pool.We will continue with a pineapple tour at the local plantations. Day 1: Arrival at the Los Campesinos Reserve. Chat on Campesinos conservation efforts. Typical lunch prepared in wood heated stove. Walk on the Poza de Olivo Pathway (1 hour), crossing a suspended bridge over the Los Chorros Waterfalls and the forest’s highest point. Swim in the Olivo natural pools. Typical Dinner. Lodging at Los Campesinos Rural Inn.
Day 2: Typical breakfast. Trekking on the Mirador El Pacifico Pathway. (2 1/2 hours). Your local guide will show you the forest from the country side point of view. We will go to the Mirador El Pacífico by the andarivel, a rustic aerial tram. Return to the Lodge. Free Time. Departure to next destination.
